Claudia turns TWO!

Mother Nature tried her best to keep us from this photo session -- but we waited her out!  It was a little cooler outside than we were expecting... but that just means that fall is right around the corner.  :)

The many faces of Miss Claudia
I just loved the "sass" you could see, just from her running!
The cutie-pie Miss Claudia turned TWO YEARS OLD!  She's such a doll!  And speaking of doll, she loves her dolls.  And she brought them to the shoot!  I got to meet all of her lovies.  This, truly, is what I love about my job.  I get to meet new people and I get to see some of the best parts of their lives -- their family members (both real and stuffed... and sometimes even 4-legged).

Claudia also loves wagons.  I brought one to the shoot, and she was super content to ride from place to place in the wagon with her dolls in tow.  :)

We played dress up, went for an adventure in the woods, and then read a couple of books.  All in all, it was an AWESOME day!

I'm just going to mention that Claudia's mom is a GENIUS!  She brought along one of those really big, swirly lollipop's as a reward for her if she was good during the shoot.  She was such a trooper & totally earned that lollipop!  Not to mention, it made for some super-cute pictures!

Enjoy!

9/11 Tribute

This wasn't a paid photo shoot, but was something I wanted to capture and share.

Our local Chick-Fil-A wanted to recognize the events of 9/11 and invite some of our local heroes.  One of our good friends is a fireman, and was asked to Emcee the event.

They had firemen and policemen (and women) present, but they wanted to ask Mike (my husband) to come along as well.  My heart gushed -- Mike's sort of panicked!  He's not a big fan of being in the public eye.  And I understand that.  But I also pointed out that he is MY hero, and other people appreciate him for the sacrifices he makes as well.  So, he agreed to do it.

It was a small, sweet ceremony.  People from the community came to support our local heroes - and it was really neat to see.  There were kiddos carrying flags, and they were just about the cutest things I'd ever seen.  They were in awe of the men & women in uniform.

If you have not gone to Chick-Fil-A lately, please go.  They have such wonderful values and service.  Oh, and did I mention how incredibly YUMMY their food is?  ;)  They took very good care of these men & women today.

Here are a few shots I took -- mainly so I could remember what a great day it was... and so I could capture them for our friend, the fireman, as well.

A little boy, who was so shy, but wanted to talk to our heroes.

Such a cutie!

Our friend (and hero), Captain Tom Cline.

My husband & a Fire Chief saluting the flag.

Saluting the flag as it's lowered.

This was a moving moment of the ceremony.  Everyone stood as they lowered the flag to half-mast.

This guy is pretty near & dear to my heart.  :)

My hero.

And baby makes FOUR!

Oh. My. Word.  I cannot tell you how much I love taking pictures of this family!

The sassy Miss Maddie just makes me smile, her parents are as gorgeous as can be, and oh my... baby Edyn simply stole my heart.  And best of all, I got my baby fix while holding her.  Love it!

I was so glad we were able to get some outdoor shots in addition to the indoor ones of Edyn.  It's already starting to look a bit like fall here in Indiana.  And I love it!  :)

I can't wait to watch these little beauties grow through the years.

Cole turns FIVE!

Funny story.  I actually went to high school with Cole & Connor's dad.  Up until this past fall, I never knew we even lived in the same town... especially given that we're a little over an hour away from where we grew up & went to high school!  (cue the music) "It's a small world after all..."

I got the pleasure of taking Cole's 5-year pictures recently.  It was fun because it was on HIS turf... his back yard!  He got to show me his super-cool play set, we giggled, and shared lots of smiles.  I got to take some pictures of his brother, Connor, too.  What a pair giggle bugs!

These two little guys are such a pleasure to work with.  Both little gentlemen, but true boys at the same time.  It was also great to talk & hang out with their mom, too!  :)

Happy Birthday, Mr. Cole!

Maiden Voyage!

Hello everyone!

I figured I'd jump on the blog train & try to share things with people this way in addition to Facebook.  I look forward to sharing my upcoming shoots with you all!

As I've always said, taking pictures is so much fun for me.  So much fun, in fact, that 98% of the time, I have a hard time sleeping thing night before a photo shoot.  Why?  Because I can't WAIT to do it!  :)  It doesn't feel like work to me.  And I truly truly love seeing smiling faces and meeting new people.

Enjoy!
